N Hotel Vision
In the heart of the medieval Pisa this design attempts to uncover the original components of this urban complex- tower houses, courtyards, arches, stairs, doors and passageways.
Given the palinsest nature of the original building the rooms turn out be each different from the next. Apart from furnishing elements developed through a sequence of a latest hotel projects- the container bench, the lounge bathroom, the illuminated bed-head- the predominating theme has become the use of projections.
We have used projections in both the guestrooms (to replace the TV screen) and in the public spaces. The entrance lobby, the largest space in the building, will be dedicated to projected art installations and a photography gallery.
The narrowness of the street entrance is overcome by setting a large lens in the main door which projects the contents of the lobby into the small square in front.

Nel cuore della Pisa medioevale il progetto cerca di riscoprire le componenti di questo complesso edificio: case, corti, archi, scale e passaggi.
Data la originale complessità dell'edificio le camere sono l'una differente dall'altra. A parte gli elementi d'arredo derivati dalle nostre precedenti esperienze di progettazione alberghiera, (panche-contenitori, il bagno salotto, le testiere illuminate) il tema predominante sono le proiezioni
Abbiamo usato proiezioni sia nelle stanze (rimpiazzando gli schermi tv) che negli spazi pubblici. La hall, lo spazio piu' grande dell'edificio, sarà dedicata a proiezioni di videoarte e galleria fotografica.
L'angustia del vicolo d'accesso è stemperata dalla grande lente incastonata nella porta principale che proietta gli interni sulla piazzetta antistante.
